Product Description

To Fit Nissan Navara D40 Eagle1 Tailgate Power Lock – Central Locking kit for your tailgate.

* Please note this lock will only fit vehicles with the factory fitted key lock.

Lock your tailgate from your existing vehicle key fob with the Eagle1 Power Lock. This unique design secures your tailgate, giving you maximum protection.

It may come as surprise to you, but the tailgate on your Navara does not lock as standard with the central locking. This could leave your bed and valuables exposed. The Eagle1 Power Lock coverts your tailgate into central locking working in conjunction with your existing central locking and existing key fob.

The Amarok tailgate power lock works great in conjunction with tonneau covers and hardtops maximising the security of your pickup.

  • Automatically locks the tailgate when power doors are locked using key fob
  • Hidden mounting inside tailgate
  • Easy non drill installation – fits in less than 1 hour

  1. Easy install and a useful upgrade.

Not perfect but a good kit with everything needed to complete the install.
    Some observations.
The rivnuts holding the lock motor to the bracket were rather too long and prevented the assembly from sitting flat to the tailgate, this meant that the actuator arm would sit at an angle where it acts on the lock preventing smooth operation.
The problem was easily rectified by a few strokes of the junior hacksaw cutting them down to the shoulder still with enough thread to hold the lock in place.
The route suggested for the wiring involves drilling through to allow the wiring in to the vehicle interior , my preference was to use the more usual DIY route of under the truck bed then up the up behind the cab and through the vent behind the left rear seat then under the plastic trim to join with the vehicle wiring under the front left door kick plate. There was more than enough length of cable supplied to take this route and it meant no drilling.
At nearly £90 I do not think that this is a cheap addition and I am aware that it is quite possible to fit a lock to the tail for much less than this by obtaining a cheap lock and fiddling with bits of bracketry and wire to get it to work but to me the time this would take would far outweigh the cost of buying this complete kit that has everything required for a successful instal straight out of the box. With this in mind I do consider the price to be money well spent and good value for money.
I have used the scotchlocks supplied to connect up mainly to test it works, access to the vehicle wiring is excellent making the job of soldering the connections very easy and I will do this when I have time.
I did not time myself but I guess it took no more than an hour to complete at a relaxed pace and stopping to chat and drink coffee etc.
I have given this product 5 stars because any niggles are very minor and easily rectified. All in all a good buy.
