ANYTHING ELSE?
Where you have signed up to our newsletters, either by post, email or both, you can at any stage decide to stop. It’s a straight forward process. On our emails there’s an unsubscribe link at the bottom, simply follow the link to unsubscribe.
If it’s postal marketing you want to stop, the easiest and quickest way to stop this is to give us a call so we can put a stop to any future postal marketing communications. You could also email us to tell us the same.
There is a pixel in our email marketing communications, this tells us if you’ve opened the email and clicked on any links. This helps us understand what our customers do and don’t find of interest. Unfortunately, we (and the email provider) are unable to switch this function off, but you can unsubscribe at any time.
If you have decided at any stage to unsubscribe from newsletters and other marketing communications, we will keep a copy of it to ensure you don’t get any more in the future.
ARE THERE ANY RECIPIENTS OF YOUR DATA?
There are a two different categories of recipients; the first are courier companies we use to deliver the products you’ve purchased from us. The second categories are the third parties on our website, for instance, google (who we use for analytics of how the site is being used) and Facebook (a direct link between our site and our Facebook page). In both cases they will be using the data you provide to them. For more information see our cookie policy.
HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR DATA FOR?
This will depend on what it is, all details pertaining to orders will be kept for 7 years so we can comply with statutory obligations regarding tax. There’s also warranties to consider, so if a warranty is longer than 7 years, we’ll retain your information in this regard.
From a marketing perspective, we’ll keep your data until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop.
HOW DO YOU ACCESS YOUR DATA AND FIND OUT WHY WE PROCESS IT?
We think the information contained on this privacy notice will be able to inform you as to what personal data we process of yours, why, what lawful bases we are relying on, if we share it with anyone else, your rights in relation to its processing and more.
However, it is your right should you wish to find out specifically what we hold on you. If that is the case, the easiest way to find out is to get in touch by emailing us at [email protected], we’ll send you a short form to complete which will help us identify all your information in the quickest possible way.
That’s not the only way you can get hold of this information, you could give us a call or simply an email stating that you wish to do a subject access request.
WHAT IF YOU WANT TO STOP US FROM USING YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
There are a couple of occasions where you might object to us processing your data, they are:
Direct Marketing: In this instance, you can unsubscribe or object to the processing. We will of course take you out of any further marketing communications but retain your details in this regard on a suppression list to ensure we don’t send you any marketing communications in the future.
Legitimate interests: In this situation, if you feel that what we are processing and why based on our legitimate interests are outweighed by your legitimate interests, please get in touch. We’ll revisit the original balancing test and do a re-assessment.
If after doing a re-assessment we believe we have a compelling reason to retain and process your data, we’ll write to you to keep you informed of our decision.
Withdrawing consent
If we’re relying on consent for anything, such as keeping you updated with opportunities that might be of interest considering your skills sets and aspirations and you no longer want us to, simply unsubscribe or email us asking us to stop. The email address you can use is [email protected]
HAVING YOUR DATA DELETED
There are certain circumstances where you could have your personal data deleted. They are:
- – If the original purpose for processing has ceased
- – If processing was based on consent and you have now withdrawn consent and we have no further legitimate grounds to continue to process
- – You have objected to processing based on legitimate interests and your legitimate interests outweigh ours.
- – If the law requires us to delete it
- – If the processing is unlawful in the first place.
However, we may still be required by law to process your personal data, if so we’ll write to you and let you know.
YOU CAN RESTRICT USE OF IT IF:
It’s not accurate, the processing is unlawful, but you don’t want it deleting, it’s not relevant other than in the defence of a legal claim or you’ve already asked us to stop using it and are waiting for us to respond to you. With all of these, just let us know, you can email us [email protected]
IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A COMPLAINT ABOUT HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA:
